How we work

Our Process

Every mediator has a different approach. With over 25 years’ experience of conflict resolution and management, mine is facilitative, pragmatic, no nonsense, yet focused. I am interested in your interest in the dispute, not your issues. I will calmly work with you to get you to a negotiated resolution.

“Anything that is discussed between us will be in the strictest confidence unless I am given your permission to disclose it, or you wish me to relay it to the other party.”

I will facilitate your mediation, keep it on track, keep the communication flowing and give balance between the parties. I gather and organise data. I seek to find common ground and l will facilitate your mediation, keep it on track, keep the communication flowing and give balance between the parties.

I gather and organise data, I seek to find common ground and I look to break down any entrenched positions or deadlock.

I will explore and challenge your position. You should expect reality testing with firm questioning and what effect it will have on the wider interests of the parties.

The subject of incurred legal costs to date and the likely future costs, should mediation fail to resolve your dispute, will be raised.

I am not a judge, decision maker or counsellor. I am not there to decide who is right or wrong, nor am I interested in your legal position. Those belong entirely to you and your legal team and have no place in a  mediation process.
